Here is a nice article written by Ryan Neil from Bonsai Mirai about a Lodgepole pine he had collected from the mountains before he began his apprenticeship in Japan. A friend was looking after the tree and the rest of Ryan’s collection. The tree was not in very good condition on a return visit home. The tree was moved under Randy Knight ‘s care and Ryan suggested to Randy that the tree be trashed. Ryan returned latter to see the tree was still alive and the saga began of the twisted tree that could and would be beautiful one day.
