Rocky Mountain Bonsai Society member Alan Hills collected this Pinus – Ponderosa Pine tree some where in Colorado a number of years ago. Alan has had the tree for a number of years and placed the tree into a very large Sara Rayner Bonsai pot. This is most certainly a two person tree, it is large, very tall and very heavy in its current pot. I know I have helped lift this tree in the past. Its not bad when you have help! I like this tree a lot it was in the 2012 International Bonsai Convention held in Denver, Co. That was the show where I helped lift the tree. It has been displayed in several of the local Bonsai Shows. Alan donated the tree to the Denver Botanic Gardens (DBG) Bonsai Collection and is under the care of International Bonsai Master Larry Jackel who is curator of the Bonsai Pavilion.
