Euonymus alatus – Burning Bush are really great to use as Bonsai. They can be found at most nurseries or even your yard if your lucky. Fall color is one of the deepest red colors you will see in a Bonsai tree. They generally tolerate cold well, all the way down to zone 3 in the USA. If you really want a large tree you may to buy a balled and burlap tree from a nursery and reduce the soil and tree in the spring just as the buds start to emerge. In the fall the fruit on the tree is very colorful to and very interesting to look at!
