HomeUncategorizedColorado Bonsai – Natural Jin Comparison of Old and Newer Jin

The following Jin photos are from an old Ponderosa Pine tree growing in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The older jin is a gray colored Jin and the newer Jin has a orange colored look to it. The newer jin still has the bark on the backside of the Jin. International Bonsai Master Bjorn Bjornholm likes to leave some bark on his jin’s. This is a perfect example where mother nature is doing what Bjorn instructs his students to do. Notice the gray colored tiny jin just below the newer jin. The newer jin in the photos is what every artist should strive for when making a jin. I have added this small gallery to the Deadwood page under Bonsai Basics.
