I saw a photo of a Tucker Oak and thought it was a great tree for Bonsai. It has holly like leaves complete with small thorns on each leaf. A google search on Tuckers oak being used for Bonsai only shows one magnificent tree currently living at the Pacific Bonsai Museum in Washington State. It appears this species of Oak is only native to California.
