I ran across this Pinus Ponderosa looking for moss. The tree was stuck in a crack in an extremely large piece of granite. Sadly the tree was dead but what a story this tree could tell! Clinging for life, holding on, reaching upwards for sun light, trying to live each day. Mother nature took the life of this once proud tree, but it is still defying Mother Nature as it simply refuses to fall over and look like so many other dead trees. Every day that goes by and the tree is still standing on its own roots sunk deep into the granite is a testement on how great and tuff this tree was and still is.
