Here is another great video by International Bonsai Master Graham Potter titled “Graham Potter Repots Taxus Bonsai – in Shorts“. This is a great video with lots of great tips. Including using a rubber mallet on the pot and tree both. I never seen anyone literally pound the rim of the pot, pound the sides of the pot and finally pound the bottom of the tree with his trusty rubber malet. It turns out the rubber mallet was the star of the video as it reduced the amount of time needed to repot this Taxus. Graham always does a good job of explaining what he is doing and why it is important to do these things. Maybe we should re-title the video to “Graham beats up a Taxus”?
