International Bonsai Master Hans Karamotto has a great new video out titled “Restyling my old Mugo Pine Yamadori Bonsai.“. This a great video for many reasons with reason number one is: its a great educational video! Hans leads through his redesign of his magnificent Mugo pine with closed caption instructions on what he is doing and why he is doing it. Some things to watch and learn from: Burning the ends of cut off branches, aluminum wire being used, using number 4 wire on severe bends and then wire branches with the same wire, using cut off branches for virtuals, use of clamps to bend branches, use of pulleys, he completely restyled this big tree all by himself using the above techniques, blocks of wood between branches while bending, deadwood work, clear concise instructions.
