The viewing stone below was very popular at the 2019 Rocky Mountain Bonsai Society show held in Sept. of 2019. The title of the stone was “Birth of a Galaxy“. This stone came from China and was very in-expensive to acquire. The stone is sitting on a piece of deadwood found in the mountains of Colorado about a week before the show. The piece of deadwood was cleaned with the use of an air compressor and dental tool picks. The stand used was basically for cascade Bonsai trees but worked out really great for this stone as the Stone/stand were just about eye level or maybe just right above eye level. The public commented on this stone combination a lot. One visitor to the show even tracked down the owner of the stone to inform them the stone was about to fall off the Bonsai stand. It seems the curtain behind the stone was striking the stone when the wind was blowing. Total cost of the stone/stand was around $12. Stone/Suiseki collecting does not have to be expensive.
