I have updated the Alnus – Alder Bonsai page on the website with a couple of videos and a couple of articles. All of which have some good information on using them for Bonsai. I also made a small gallery of finished trees.

In Colorado Thin Leaf Alders “Alnus tenuifolia” can be used for Bonsai. Thin Leaf Alders are native to Colorado. You cannot over water a Thin Leaf Alder as they love water. The are happy to grow in deep saucers of water and you can fill them up ever day and come back the next day to find most of the water is now gone. I have three trees under development.
