There is a really nice article titled “The Art and Science of Importing Ancient Living Masterpieces” written by Heather Curlett. The article takes a reader through the process of importing 3 Bonsai masterpieces from famed Japanese Bonsai Collecter Daizo Iwasaki. The trees being imported were one Japanese Red Pine and two Japanese White pines. Its a good article to see how a Bonsai tree makes it journey from Japan into the United States.
