International Bonsai Master Jonas Dupuich has a new article out titled “Applying a moss top dressing to satsuki azalea bonsai“. This is a great article on how to grow moss on the top of soil. He gives very good instructions and has great photos to show what he is talking about. I am not sure how well this technique will work in a semi-arid area like Colorado.
