Bonsai Empire has a new video titled “Developing Maple Bonsai trees“. International Bonsai Master Bill Valavanis stars in this video and takes us through the process of developing Maple trees for Bonsai. He talks about Maples in all stages of growth. Bill teaches us: wiring, pruning, shaping, defoliating, leaf size. Interesting tools being used: whisk broom, leaf blower, special jin pliers. All of Bills trees are great, but watch for the blooming Chrysanthemum Bonsai trees. This is a fantastic video one of the best ever on Acer – Maples trees for Bonsai. I was lucky to meet Bill at the 2012 International ABS/BCI Bonsai Convention held in Denver, Colorado. I had a tree selected for the show in my third year of Bonsai. It was an honor to meet Bill and Bill was very gracious in answering my question.
