Colorado Bonsai – How Mother Nature Creates Jins
There is a major blizzard moving through Colorado as of this post. 30-40 mph winds are buffeting my house and landscape trees along with heavy wet snow. My Pinus nigra – Austrian Pine trees are under direct attack by the storm. My largest tree has a huge limb about 15 feet above the ground, it is now touching the ground and that is after I have knocked the snow off of it twice. My large snow blower gave up and cried uncle under the assault of the fierce storm. I had to drag it back to the house and up the driveway. Shoveling the snow twice was useless as the storm just blew the snow back in. Back to the tree I expect this huge branch is going to snap off the tree during the night forming a brand new jin on the tree. I won’t be to upset if it happens as I was going to cut it off any way!!
