Colorado Bonsai – Mountain Mahogany – Cercocarpus breviflorus Gray var. breviflorus Bonsai #5
I repotted my Mountain Mahogany – Cercocarpus breviflorus Gray var. breviflorus Bonsai #5 tree today into a very nice Chuck Iker pot. I did cut off abut 2 1/2 ” on a very large root and some small ones with no fine roots on them to get it into the pot. All in all and easy repot for a yamadori tree. This species of tree is very difficult to transplant so you need to try not to disturb the roots as much as possible. You can follow the progress of the tree on the link above. Here is a photo of the tree in its new pot. The photo quality is not to good and I will take another photo when it is sunny.
