Kathy Shaner is an International Bonsai Master that studied in Japan. She was the first Non-Japanese person and the first woman to be given the title of “Bonsai Master” by the Nippon Bonsai Association of Japan. Kathy is the curator of the Bonsai Garden at Lake Merritt in Oakland, California. Kathy is an extremely good instructor of Bonsai and teaches students at any level of development. More importantly she is a really nice person who treats people with kindness, respect and dignity.
