Salix – Willow are not commonly used in Bonsai. They are generally short lived trees in nature and they are prone to limb die back for no reason. They are also a host to numerous diseases/insects that like to dine on them. They do have fuzzy catkins in the spring which bees love. Leaves range in size from very small to very large. Propagation is very easy cut off a twig or even a large branch and shove it into some soil and start watering it every day. It will soon pop out some new branches and root as well. This is one tree you cannot kill by over watering. So why not try a Willow today?
