This stone was very popular at the 50th Anniversary Rocky Mountain Bonsai Society Show. The stone is red jasper from Cache Creek, California. The original owner of the stone named it “Yamagata – ishi”. Japanese: variously written, with characters meaning ‘mountain shape’ or ‘mountain district’. I have decided not to change the name.
