Colorado Bonsai – Massive Quercus gambelii – Scrub / Gambel Oak Yamadori Bonsai
I was lucky enough to find a massive trunk-ed horizontal growing Quercus gambelii – Scrub / Gambel Oak tree growing on a boulder somewhere west of I-25 highway and east of the Pacific Coast highway. I spent several hours extracting the tree despite the cold hard granite guarding the trees roots. I have created a new page for Quercus gambelii – Scrub / Gambel Oak and have it shown on Quercus (Oak) Bonsai, Deciduous Bonsai and Bonsai Tree Information pages.
Please follow along with the development of this unique Bonsai tree. Its going to be a beautiful trip well worth the effort it took to collect it.
How many bonsai trees can I get in Colorado from mountain and how can I get licence please help
You will have to contact the Colorado State Forest department to get a permit to collect a tree. The same thing applies for BLM and United States Forest lands. All three agencies will instruct you where you can collect trees. Number of trees depends on how many permits you purchase.
