International Bonsai Master Michael Hagedorn has a new article out titled “Bonsai Economics and Creativity“. In this article Michael speaks about artists who can afford to buy anything they desire and it is often evident in the trees they display. What can you do if you cannot do the same? Michael suggests putting on your creative hat so to speak and look for solutions for you needs which do not cost a lot of money. Michael offers some great ideas on how to do this. I see something similar in the running of local Bonsai clubs. Things that used to be free for the club members are not free anymore. Some clubs are for the haves and the have not’s are excluded from club events because they simply cannot afford the fees.
